If your shots seem significantly shorter (or longer) than they are in real life, here are the most common causes.
Indoor Swing Syndrome
This is the #1 reason. Many golfers subconsciously swing shorter or slower indoors because of the ceiling and walls around them. It’s completely normal. After a few swings, most people relax and start swinging more naturally. Don’t try to force extra power — just swing smooth.
Check Club Selection
Make sure the club selected in the software matches the club in your hands. If the software thinks you’re hitting a 9-iron when you’re swinging a 6-iron, the data and trajectory will be off. Use the club toggle arrows on screen to change your selection.
Ball Quality
Marked, scuffed, or low-quality balls can produce inconsistent readings. Use the clean balls provided in the bay.
Lighting
Extremely bright light shining directly on the hitting zone can affect camera-based tracking. The bay lighting is set up to avoid this, but if you’ve turned on extra lights or have a flashlight running, turn them off.
If distances are still wildly off after checking these items, contact our support line — there may be a calibration issue with the launch monitor.
