Games for Beginners & Kids

Highlights casual modes: closest-to-pin, long drive, and mini-games.

Not ready for a full 18-hole round? No problem. FSX Play includes several casual game modes that are perfect for beginners, kids, and groups who just want to have fun.

Closest to the Pin

Pick a Par 3 hole and see who can land their ball closest to the flag. Each player gets 3 shots. Leaderboards are tracked per hole — try to beat the house record.

Long Drive

Grip it and rip it. Each player gets 3 swings on a Par 4 or Par 5. Longest drive wins. Pure, simple fun.

Driving Range

Just hit balls at your own pace. No scoring, no pressure. Pick a club, swing, check your data, repeat. Perfect for absolute beginners learning the basics.

Scramble Mode

For groups, Scramble is the most beginner-friendly way to play a full course. Everyone hits, the team picks the best shot, and everyone plays from there. It keeps the round moving fast and takes the pressure off weaker players.

Tips for Kids

  • Start with Closest to the Pin or the driving range — less intimidating than a full round.
  • Set the tee box to the front tees (shortest distances) in the player setup.
  • Enable mulligans so they can retake shots without frustration.
  • An adult must supervise at all times and stay in the bay.

Bay 2? Try PuttView Games Too

Bay 2 includes a putting green with the PuttView system. Use the Samsung tablet to play putting-specific games like Splash, Darts, Putt Pong, Tic-Tac-Toe and more. These are separate from FSX Play and only available in Bay 2.
