HELP: Monitor Isn’t Reading Shots

Check ball placement, clean ball, remove reflections, check LED status.

If the Foresight Falcon launch monitor isn’t detecting your shots, try these steps in order.

1. Check Ball Placement

The ball must be placed in the hitting zone — the marked area on the mat where the launch monitor can see it. If the ball is too far forward, back, or to the side, the monitor won’t detect it. Look for the “Ready” indicator at the bottom right of the screen — this confirms the monitor sees your ball.

2. Use a Clean Ball

Dirty, scuffed, or marked balls can interfere with the optical tracking system. Swap to a clean, unmarked ball from the supply in the bay.

3. Check for Reflections

Bright light sources or reflective objects near the hitting zone can confuse the launch monitor’s cameras. Move any reflective items (phones with flashlights, shiny bags) away from the mat area.

4. Check the LED Status

  • Green LED = Monitor is active and ready.
  • Red LED = Monitor has an error or isn’t connected. Try restarting FSX Play.
  • No LED = Monitor may be powered off. Check the power cable and the power strip.

5. Restart FSX Play

Close FSX Play and relaunch it from the desktop. This often re-establishes the connection to the launch monitor.
